Trendy mirrors has a wealth of experience which is now running into its third generation of Thom family producing quality New Zealand mirrors. William Thom senior pioneered mirror silvering in New Zealand back in 1938, his aim was quality, affordability and service. This is the core of Trendy mirrors business and subsequently we only produce lasting quality at a realistic price with expedient delivery.
We also produce a range of high quality Bathroom mirrors. This is essential if the mirror is to last in typical conditions.
Our new generation bathroom mirrors were our first choice from results of salt testing which proved this mirror to be superior in resistance to corrosive elements and moisture. Secondly the mirror is ripple free giving it a true reflection without unsightly distortion.

- Do I need to hang my mirror on a stud ?
- We'll send you everything you need to hang your mirror (gib plugs, fixings and an instruction leaflet). If you've ordered a very large and or heavy mirror we'll provide you with special instructions.

How high should my mirror be ?

Allow 150-200mm above the vanity before measuring the height. Measure upwards until everyone in the family is visible in the mirror. This is usually around 900mm.

Choosing a mirror to suit your bathroom or living area
Mirrors in a bathroom or living area reflect light and can add light to dark areas. Larger mirrors add a perception of space.
Size
- For darker and smaller areas use a large mirror to add light and perception of space.
- For a general size check try cutting some newspaper to size and hold against the wall
- For size symmetry, check vanity width, window framing or shower height for alignment.
- Vertical and horizontal mirrors both give a different effect
- For a full height mirror measure up from the basin 150mm -200mm & add sufficient height to accommodate all members of your household , normally about 900 – 1000mm is sufficient.
Double basins
For double basins use two individual heated mirrors for a contemporary finish, however if you want to increase natural lighting and the perception of space one long larger mirror is our recommendation.

- For flush wall fit > holes & domes, orbs or glue fix
- For a minimal finish > hidden fixings
- For use with demist pad > hidden fixings, holes & domes, orbs or clips (glue not recommended)
